Literature Review According to the Canadian Nurses Association, limited research and clinical evidence exist on the effectiveness of nursing care delivery models across the continuum of care (2010). A literature review consisting of empirical and theoretical research was conducted to gain insight into three specific models of nursing care: primary nursing, total patient care nursing, and team nursing. The literature pertaining to each model will be explored first, followed by a comparison of the models themselves. Primary (SAM) The two central premises of Primary Nursing are relationship building and rapport. The same study by Suhonen et al., (2007) found that increased staffing or skill mix failed to predict the same. They concluded that an improvement in the quality of the nurse-patient relationship facilitates a patient s’ perception of individualized care, rather than increased staffing or skill mix. Payne Steakley (2015) also concluded that establishing this model of care could maximize the benefit of the hospitalization and potentially reduce the incidence of readmission. Total Patient Care Total patient care is the oldest method of patient care organization and within this system, each nurse assumes total responsibility for patient care. As cited in Fernandez et al. (2010), this model is best suited to a workplace consisting of all registered nurses and as a result, its use is slowly declining. This study identifies the advantages of this model as the potential for patients to be involved in decisions regarding their care, and that patients’ progress can be easily evaluated. Additional responsibilities, including being a mentor, preceptor, and supporter of new nurses, are generally avoided. Sethe was whipped with cowhide for telling Mrs. Garner thatthe boys of the schoolteacher had taken milk from her that was for her baby. Sethe was whipped so hard that he had touched every ridge and leaf of itwith his mouth, none of which Sethe could feel because her back skin had beendead for years (18). Even though years had passed Sethe is still effected bythe punishment that was dealt to her during her time as a slave. Below herbloody knees, there was no feeling at all; her chest was two cushions ofpain, (34) describes Sethe of her body as she lied in the woods pregnant andin severe pain. The fear of slavery and hope of freedom had led her to run awaypregnant into the woods to try to save herself and her unborn daughter from thechains of slavery. Slavery also affected Sethe psychologically because thethreat of slavery onto her children lead to the killing of one of her ownchildren. Sethe did not want one of her children, Beloved, to live like how shehad and to suffer like how she had suffered. Sethe believed that Beloved wouldbe better off dead then to have been a slave to someone. Sethe believed that.what she had done was right because it came from true love (251). Slavery had to have affected Sethe psychologically because no mother in theirright mind would kill their own children, but the negative affects of slaveryand having been through the life of a slave, Sethe strongly believed thatBeloved should not have to live the life of a slave. Sethe felt rather thanhaving to suffer, Beloved would be better of dead. In Beloved, we see evidenceof the affects of slavery on families during that time. Slavery has lead to thebreak up of many families. Going back to when Sethe was a slave, she did nothave any parents herself, and lost her husband when she ran away to Ohio tryingto free herself. Slavery also led her to kill one of her children, and the ghostof that dead child, Beloved, led to both of her sons running away. Inattempts to break free from the chain of slavery, Sethe had to put her familyaside to gain freedom for herself and her one daughter Denver. Baby Suggs lostall of her eight children due to slavery, four children were taken from her andf our were chased away. She tells Sethe that she should be thankful that she hadthree children left but it was because of these conditions that many formerslaves were able to grow into a closer bond with each other. Being a slave hasnot put Sethe in the right state of mind. The act of slavery stills lingers inher mind, as she cannot get over the years of her living as a slave. Like asoldier who fought in war would have flashbacks, Sethe often experiences aflashback of her own kind trying to forget all of the horrible memories. Sethecharges Edward Bodwin with an ice pick in the deranged belief that he isschoolteacher come for her babies (Furman 269). Being a slave and rememberingher horrible past has led Sethe to believe that a white man who was there togive her daughter Denver a job was the schoolteacher that had mistreated herwhen she was a slave. Seeing Edward Bodwin standing in front of her house sheflashed back to how the schoolteacher forced her to kill her own child and justwent after Edward Bowin to kill him. Some characters like Ella has tried tocompletely forget the past. The past was something to leave behind. And if itdidnt stay behind, well, you might have to stomp it out (256). Ella feelsthat the past being so terrible its not even worth remembering and is best tojust forget about everything that had happened. The affects of slavery is sogreat that the characters in this story have a hard time moving on with theirlives even after the end of slavery. Even though Denver did not live as a slave,the fact that Sethe her mom was slave, affected Denvers life greatly. Theghost of Beloved living in the house leads Denver to say, I cant livehere. Of Mice And Men Of Mice and Men The book that I have read that has really stayed with me is Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I really enjoyed reading it which is unusual because I usually don't enjoy reading too much. There was something about George and Lennie's friendship that really made me think. Seeing how they were and how they shared life was really interesting. George didn't have to bother with Lennie, he could have abandoned him and gone on his own way. But he did not do that, he stayed with Lennie watching over him almost like a parent to a child. Even though Lennie always got George in trouble, George never stopped loving him and always stood by him. The friendship they shared went beyond what was not really there they each shared a dream and both knew they meant the world to each other. I felt that if these totally different people could get along and look out for each other, why can't we get along with people who are different than us. They made me realize that I could learn something from them on ho w to treat people who are different than me. What I also liked about it was the way they never stopped trying to reach their dream. This made me think that if they could work hard for their dream why can't I ?! It showed me that it does not matter where you come from or what you do, it is okay to dream and work as hard as you can to reach it. For all it shows for friendship and loyalty it also shows how sometimes you have to do things you never thought you would do. For example in the end when George is forced to shoot Lennie in the head you would never have thought he would do that, but you can see that under the circumstances he had no other choice. He only had two choices: let the other people get to him first and watch them torture Lennie while he died a long horrible death or do it himself and get it over quickly where Lennie did not know what hit him. This is also true in life, many times we are faced with tough choices and even though they may be the hardest you will have to go through, you know that that is the only way. You come to the realization that everything you thought you were about, can all change with a blink of the eye. Each and every morning when I wake up, I roll out of bed, attempt to do my hair perfectly, and then put on my uniform. The turning point in the story comes when trouble knocks on the postmaster’s door in the form of news about his own daughter who lay sick in another town. He was anxious about receiving a letter from her, discussing her health. He searched in the pile of letters and to his shock, found Ali’s much awaited letter from his daughter. His anger disappeared in a whiff and he sent for the postman to send it to Ali right away. The story here turns quite heart-rendering when the postmaster feels empathy towards Ali. He is grieved because of his condition and is filled with sympathy for the old man. He then personally went to the post office to give Ali the letter. To his amazement, Ali received the letter with gratefulness and tears in his eyes. The postmaster shrunk back when he noticed a light of kindness when Ali received the letter. The postmaster narrated this entire story to the postman. When asked on whom he saw the postmaster said he saw Ali. This is when he came to know that Ali had died three months before. Simply put, the researcher read the documented surveys, and analyzed the inter-linkages of these responses. When responses are not explicit, inter-judge validation was used, with another researcher agreeing on the category under which the response may be grouped. The meaning and interpretation of each response was noted, and related to the organization’s overall profile. In this sense and taken as a holistic approach, the data from the chosen institution may be considered as a case study. Methodological Limitations The study also has methodological limitations. First, it did not make use of any other quantitative measure to study the phenomenon apart from qualitative procedure of thematic analysis (Patton 2002). Second, there was only one participant institution, Elfed and its responses may not be reflective of the population it represents (Zikmund 1997). It may be worth noting that the goal of the study is to generalize about the phenomenon across schools; thus, the use of participants from a cross-section of different learning institutions. The human muscular system is made up of over 600 connecting muscles. All of the muscles work together in sync to make your body move in several different ways. None of the body systems can work without muscles and your muscles can’t work without your other body systems so that means that all of your body systems need each other to work and make your body function correctly. Your muscles need protein, nutrients, and oxygen to move and work. Then the circulatory system carries those essential particles to your muscles from the digestive and respiratory systems. That is when your circulatory system carries the leftover waste back to the original systems to be discharged from your body. Your nervous system runs the whole show by telling your different systems to make this whole process happen Muscles Your muscles are made up of body tissue which consists of very very small fibers which make up your muscles and you also have ligaments which help your muscles move in the right way. Each of your muscles are responsible for their own special job. All of your muscles contract to provide motion when the brain sends a signal through the nervous system which are stimulants. These stimulants tell your muscles to move your arms, legs and other muscles move your eyelids and they all work in sync to make you walk and talk. There are some muscles in which you have no control over like the muscles in your internal organs like your heart, stomach, and other organs in all of your body systems. There are three different types of muscular tissues. There are the Smooth, the Skeletal, and the Cardiac muscular tissues. Smooth muscles are made of spindle-shaped cells. Smooth muscles are found in the skin, internal organs, reproductive system, major blood vessels, and excretory system. Skeletal muscles are composed of long fibers surrounded by a membranous sheath, the  sarcolemma. Since the Skeletal muscles are under control by whom ever they belong to are called voluntary muscles. This muscle is attached to two or more bones which are then attached to the skeleton by tendons. For example, head and neck muscles; contraction of these muscles produces facial expressions and head movements. They are also responsible for speech and swallowing. Skeletal muscles are the main muscles which move your body. Muscles nearly always work in coordinated groups; contraction of one muscle is accompanied by relaxation of another, while other muscles stabilize nearby joints. Then the last of the muscle types is the Cardiac Muscle or the involuntary muscles. Cardiac muscles are not under conscious control they do not react by a persons decision or movement. and are connected to the nervous system which are stimulated by autonomic impulses. Cardiac muscles are found in your internal organs like the heart or the intestine. For example; they include muscles that propel food through the intestine and those that control sweating and blood pressure. Muscles that are properly exercised react to stimuli quickly and powerfully. As a result of excessive use muscles may have an abnormal increase of an organ or tissue in the muscle cells. The book flows story ‘Okonkwo’, the son of ne’er do well, who is determined not to end up a failure like his father, but wants to follow tradition and rise in rank within the tribe. But just as the title predicts, Okonkwo’s plans for a perfect life go astray. Change is inevitable and even the best lead plans to astray. In the turbulent time settings, Okonkwo is doomed to loose the traditions he cherishes as his society slowly falls apart. The first part of the novel discuss with suffering and sorrows of the natives due to illiteracy. They are far away from modernization and having their own circle of ethic, morality and manners. They live with their tradition, custom, ritual and savage culture. The second part deals with the theme of exploration and exploitations. It expresses the arrival of Europeans in the Africa and exploitation of Europeans in African native Nigro. The men like Mr. Brown and Mr. James Smith being the rule policy in Umufia. They destroy native African culture by introducing Christianity. The marginal African like Osu Ibu people are attracted towards Christen religion as a result of that native African culture collapsed in Umufia. Post-Colonial theory thinks about subaltern, Marginal, hybrid people, the other, the untouchables of the whole world. The writers like Edward Said, G. C. Spivak and Homi Bhabha even Chinua Achebe focus the suffering of marginal and expose the cruel imperial rule. Okonkwo the protagonist feels great insult of his culture and nation, he has fight against British Imperialism and other hand he has to fight against his own people. At a time he is fighting world war and civil war. On both levels he defeated because of cruel power of colonization, imperialism. When realized his helplessness dominance of imperialism he commits suicide.
